SAFE, NATURAL SUN PROTECTION
I do not hide from the sun. I believe Vitamin D is so important and healthy for us. But I do think there are times when we need to wear sunscreen. Unfortunely most sunscreens we buy at the store are full of toxins that are SO BAD for us.
So what do we do?
Well luckily doTERRA has come out with a sun line that is SAFE. It protects us from the sun and from the blue light that comes from screens which can cause skin aging. This line includes a spray, a lotion, a facial moisturizer with sun protection, a face and body stick, and an after sun-spray.
The wonderful thing about these products is they are natural and free from synthetic fragrances, parabens, oxybenzone, and phthalates. They are vegan-friendly and reef-safe. You can use these and feel good about what you are rubbing into your skin and not worry about leaving toxins in nature's water.
Let's take a moment to look at each piece of the line.
Sun Body Mineral Sunscreen Spray: This is a mineral-based sunscreen spray. It includes non-nano zinc oxide. What does this mean? Well...zinc oxide protects against UVA and UVB rays from the sun. The non-nano part means that they are not small enough to penetrate the skin. This is a good thing and safer for your body. The other great part is it is safer for marine life and coral reefs. It has an SPF of 30. It contains great plant-based ingredients like aloe vera and vitamin E as well as some wonderful essential oils like Frankincense, Helichrysum, and Carrot Seed. This comes in a non-aerosol spray body making it easy to apply all over your body.
Sun Face + Body Mineral Sunscreen Lotion: This is also SPF 30 and mineral-based. Again, this is made with non-nano zinc oxide, aloe vera, vitamin E, Carrot Seed, Frankincense, and Helichrysum.
Sun Face + Body Mineral Sunscreen Stick: This has a higher SPF of 40, but still contains non-nano zinc oxide, shea butter, cocoa butter, vitamin E, Helichrysum, Frankincense, and Carrot Seed. It comes in a convenient stick that makes for easy application on the face and other parts of the body.
Sun Face Mineral Sunscreen Daily Moisturizer: This is the newest part of the doTERRA sun line, and I was SO EXCITED when it came out. It is a wonderful face moisturizer that you can use daily and is SPF 28. It is dermatologist-tested and mineral-based. This not only protects from UVA and UVB rays but from harmful blue light-emitting screens as well. It absorbs quickly and leaves no white cast. It is non-comedogenic, rich in antioxidants, and contains vitamin E, evodia, grapeseed oil, Frankincense, Helichyrsum, Magnolia, Ylang Ylang, and Lemongrass oils.
Sun After Sun Restorative Body Spray: This is the perfect spray for after a day in the sun. It contains Japanese green tea, aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, Copaiba, Lavender, Peppermint, Helichrysum, and Frankincense oils. This combination of ingredients help restore and nourish your skin.
